Betts drove in three runs and also made a couple of great catches in rightfield.
Xander Bogaerts added two hits and three RBI in a 12 hit night for the Sox.
The bullpen came through again after starter Brian Johnson left the game in the 3rd inning with a shoulder issue. Four relievers pitched 6.1 shutout innings against Philly. That's 21.1 innings of shutout pitching for the bullpen.
With the Yankees losing again out west, the (37-28) Red Sox get within two games of NY for the lead in the AL East.
