For the fourth time in program history the UMaine women's basketball team will play in the WNIT when they take on Villanova tonight in the tournaments first round.This will be the third meeting between the two programs with each team winning once.

The Bears go into the game with a 23-8 record and have lost two of their last three games including their upset loss in the semifinals of the America East tournament. Liz Wood leads Maine with an average of 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists per game. Point guard Sigi Koizar is also averaging 14 points a game while shooting 46 percent from the floor.

Villanova lost in the semifinals of their conference tournament and have posted a record of 19-13. They played well at home this season where they have won 5 straight and went 11-2 in the Pavilion this year.
