UMaine’s QB Wins Weekly Awards [VIDEO]

Awards are coming in for UMaine's freshman quarterback Joe Fagnano for his efforts Saturday night vs  Liberty University.

The Black Bears lost to the FBS Flames 59-44 but Fagnano is the CAA Rookie of the Week and the New England Writers Golden Helmet Award winner as the best D-1 performance in the region.

Fagnano went 25-for-37, 445 yards and five touchdowns.

His 445 yards is the most for a UMaine QB since 2009 and total yards of 469 is tops in the CAA this year.

NOTE: UMaine coach Nick Charlton said Monday that Fagnano will start again this Saturday vs William & Mary as #1 quarterback Chris Ferguson has his ankle injury re-evaluated.
