Bangor Legion Opens With Win

A different name but the same result for the Bangor American Legion baseball team. The team is now called the Coffee News Comrades and the defending state champs scored an opening night 10-0 win over the Steamboat team from Waldo.

Peter Kemble pitched a 3-hit shutout on Legion Zone 1 opening night.

The Comrades are coming last year's state Legion championship and an appearance in the New England Regional. Many of the players were part of Bangor's high school state championship in Class A last Saturday.
