Perhaps someone forgot to tell the Red Sox the Patriots Day game started at 11am. How else to explain a lethargic effort in a 8-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

After splitting a four game series with the O's the Sox are 5-11.

Hector Velazquez made the spot start but he walked four batters in the first three innings.

Marcus Walden came on to give three runs in two innings for work. In fact, the Sox bullpen gave up seven runs.

Sox pitching gave up another two home runs, including one to struggling Chris Davis.

Meanwhile, the Sox offense was stagnant - just four hits. J.D. Martinez had two of them.
