Boston Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy is one of three finalists for the NHL Coach of the Year Award. It is called the 'Jack Adams Award'.

Cassidy, Colorado coach Jared Bednar and Vegas coach Gerard Gallant are the finalists. The winner is announced at the NHL Awards night in July.

While Cassidy led the Bruins to the second best record in the Eastern Conference, Gallant is considered the heavy favorite to win the award. Gallant guided the expansion Vegas Golden Knights team to a division title and 109 points in the regular season.

NOTE; Cassidy joins Patrice Bergeron for Bruins up for major awards. Bergeron is a finalist for the Selke Award that honors the top defensive forward.
