After trading out of the #1 pick and after failing to pry Kristaps Porzingis from the NY Knicks, the Boston Celtics drafted Duke forward Jayson Tatum with their #3 pick.

Tatum is 6-foot-8 and turned pro after one season at Duke. He averaged 16.8 PPG and 7.3 RPG for the Blue Devils.

As expected, Philadelphia used that #1 pick to take Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball was taken #2 by the LA Lakers.

Meanwhile, Celtics president of basketball operations, Danny Ainge, admitted to reporters last night that they never did talk with possible draftee Josh Jackson and in fact he cancelled a workout planned as the C's were heading out to Sacramento to see him.
