Maine Olympian Russell Currier finished in 50th place in his second Olympic biathlon event in Sochi, Russia. It was the 20km Individual event and his time was 55:07.5.

Currier is from Stockholm, in Aroostook County and trains at the Maine Winter Sports Center in Presque Isle.

Martin Fourcade (France) won the gold medal with a time of 49:31.7.

There were 89 competitors.

The next men's biathlon event in Sochi takes place Sunday morning - the 15km Mass Start event.
