Ellsworth 50 Hermon 32 [BOXSCORE]

The Ellsworth Eagles Girl's basketball team is 4-1, and that's something that hasn't been said in years, and years, but after the Ellsworth Eagles defeated the Hermon Hawks in Ellsworth 50-32, the Eagles are in fact 4-1!

Ellsworth took a 14-4 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Hailee Langley scored 8 points and Maddie Card had 4 to lead Ellsworth, while Katie Cory had a 3-pointer for Hermon.

In the 2nd Quarter, Ellsworth took a 14 point lead, until Hermon came back to trail by only 6 points at the half, as Ellsworth led 25-19. Card added 7 points for Ellsworth, including a 3-pointer, while Claire Peterson had 4 points including a 3 pointer and Emi Higgins had 9 points for Hermon.

In the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth played with passion and determination, and took a 42-27 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter, outscoring Hermon 17-8. Caitlin Bean had 7 points inclding a 3-pointer and Langley added 4 points. For Hermon, Corey added 4 points.

In the 4th Quarter, Maddie Card added 6 points, going 4-4 from the free throw line, and Ellsworth outscored Hermon 8-5.

Ellsworth was led by Maddie Card with 19 points and Hailee Langley had 12 points. Ellsworth was 6-13 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Katie Corey and Emi Higgins, each who had 11 points.

Ellsworth, now 4-1, and is off until December 29th, when they go to the County to play Presque Isle at 5 PM and Caribou on the 30th at 11:30 AM.

Hermon now 2-2 plays at Presque Isle on Tuesday, December 23rd at 4 PM.
