According to Forbes Magazine, the Boston Celtics franchise is now valued at $1.7 billion dollars and that puts the C's at #4 in the NBA.

Forbes reports the team has a rent free deal with TD Garden, pull in millions of dollars in local TV rights, also has equity in Comcast Sports New England and new lucrative national TV deals.

It all adds up to big bucks. In fact, the average NBA tam value went up 74% from a year ago.

The LA Lakers are #1, worth $2.6B. The NY Knicks are #2 and the Chicago Bulls are #3.

On the court the Celtics are a different story, at 13-26 the Celts have the 5th worst record in the league.
