Have we all essentially recovered from last week's weather?

I guess it depends on who you ask. I know if you go to either of the big power company's websites, it'll show that things are essentially back to normal. Although, there are likely still some folks out there who are still being tended to. Above and beyond that, it's all about trying to get our yards put back together before the snow flies.

Luckily, Mother Nature has been *kind* to us in that regard. But she always finds a way to ruin things when we need it the least. If you happen to live in Bangor, they begin picking up debris from the recent storm. If you can get your hustle on, you can get all those branches and sticks out to the road so they can go bye-bye.

Is the city just picking up storm debris?

Yes. According to a post on the city's Facebook page, on December 26th, crews will begin cruising through Bangor to basically pick up blown-down materials. No other items will be taken. No leaf crews... No construction debris or appliances or anything like that. If someone's washer and dryer blew into your yard, it lives there now. The city won't take it.

If you haven't seen them in your neighborhood yet, take it as your 5-minute warning. Hauling it to the front of the yard now, may be a whole lot more appealing than having to look at it all winter, knowing you have to deal with it eventually. Here's your one-and-done. Oh, and all you other towns? Maybe you should call your local Public Works.
