McCarthy 5th Among Mainers At Beach To Beacon

The 20th running of the TD Beach to Beacon 10k Road Race drew over 8,000 runners from all over the world to Cape Elizabeth. Stephen Kosgei-Kibet from Kenya beat out Maine native Ben True by less than a second to win.

Their times, 27:55 and 27:56.

The top finisher among the women was Kenya's Mary Keitany. Her time of 30:41 place her 14th overall and set a new record time for women.

Among the Bangor area competitors, Old Town's Erik McCarthy finshed 5th among Maine men with a time of 32:29. Former UMaine runner Jesse Orach was tops among Mainers.

Bangor/St.Agatha's Tracy Guerrette was third among Maine women at 36:43.
