For 12 NHL seasons Rick Middleton was affectionately known as 'Nifty' to Boston Bruins fans and now the Bruins have announced that Middleton's #16 will be retired to the rafters at Boston Garden.

The ceremony will take place on November 29th.

From 1976 to 1988, Nifty scored 402 goals and added 496 assists for the Bruins. Only Johnny Bucyk and Phil Esposito have scored more goals for the B's. He totaled over 100 points twice in his career.

Middleton also played in 114 playoff games in a Bruins uniform.

He will become the 11th player to have his number retired by the club, the first one since Cam Neely had his number retired in 2004.
