
Old Town Wins, Improves To 14-0
Rachel Martin of Old Town has been one of the top pitchers in Eastern Maine the last 2 years and showed why on Saturday by throwing a no-hitter against MDI.The Coyotes came away with a 13-0 win in a game that ended after 6-innings as a result of the mercy rule.
Martin struck out 10, and walked 1. Only 2 MDI batters reached base all day; Cassidy Parady on an error in the bottom of the 3rd inning and Madison Thornton via a walk in the bottom of the 6th inning.
Rachel Martin was also productive at the plate going 2-4 with 2 doubles. Lauren Martin was 2-4 with 3 RBIs and a double while Kayla Madden was 2-4 with 2 RBIs and Kayla Hayward was 2-4 with 3 RBIs.
Old Town is now a perfect 14-0 on the season. Their 2 remaining games are away against Orono on Thursday May 28th and home against Hermon on Tuesday June 2nd.
MDI is now 5-8 and play at John Bapst Tuesday.
