24 hours after taking one of the most heartbreaking losses of the season, the Red Sox pounded the Detroit Tigers 10-2 Friday night and inched closer to first place in the AL East.

David Ortiz and Jackie Bradley Jr. clubbed two-run homers in the first inning.

Hanley Ramirez had three hits and four RBI.

In total, the Sox banged out 16 hits against Tiger pitching.

Meanwhile, Rick Porcello cruised to his 17th win. His ERA drops to 3.22 after pitching seven innings, allowing just two runs on 4 hits.
