David Pastrnak scored his third NHL hat trick as the Bruins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5-1, at TD Garden on Saturday.

Jaroslav Halak made 40 saves, while Patrice Bergeron had a goal and two assists for the Bruins.

Bergeron scored the first goal of the game at 16:12 in, tipping a pass from Pastrnak past Toronto goalie Garret Sparks.

Pastrnak's one-timer goal off a cross-ice pass from Bergeron gave Boston a 2-0 lead at 5:46 of the second period.

Pastrnak jammed home a feed from Marchand at 10:34 for a 3-0 lead.

John Tavares scored Toronto's lone goal at 19:30, cutting Boston's lead to 3-1.

Pastrnak completed the hat trick on a power play goal at 14:04 of the third period, beating Sparks with a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle, giving the Bruins a 4-1 advantage.

Joakim Nordstrom scored at 14:30 for the 5-1 final score.

The Bruins, who will be back on the ice Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights, improved to 9-5-2.
