For the 20th time in his career, Tom Brady made his way to New England Patriots training camp field earlier this morning. His arrival was met with cheers and applause from fans who are ready for some football.

Among the storylines on the first day of camp - it is being reported now that Julian Edelman has a broken thumb and that he may not see any action in preseason.

It's the first day of no Rob Gronkowski at camp because of retirement. The team signed TE Lance Kendricks who was with the Green Bay Packers last year.

ESPNBoston's Mike Reiss is reporting that QB Danny Etling is not wearing the traditional red jersey and is working as a wide receiver and special teams player. Remember the Patriots drafted Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham in the 4th round of the draft.

NOTE: The Patriots first preseason game is Thursday August 8th at Detroit.
