The New England Patriots were in Washington D.C. on Wednesday and were honored by the President Donald Trump for winning Super Bowl 51 this past February,

Owner Robert Kraft and Coach Bill Belichick were joined by numerous players that included Julian Edelman, Jimmy Garoppolo, among others.  President Trump made a speech outside of the White House honoring the Pats for their win and acknowledged his friendship with both Kraft and Belichick.  He also mentioned the letter that was given to him by the head coach prior to the 2016 Presidential Election.

The team was given access to the White House and given a tour of the Oval Office among other areas.  Tight End Rob Gronkowski also crashed the White House's daily press briefing of Press Secretary Sean Spicer, and jokingly asked if the latter needed any help with the media.

The New England franchise presented the President with a Super Bowl 51 jersey, as well as a Patriots' helmet.  It is the team's fifth appearance at the White House
