Rick Porcello struck out 13 Yankees but in the end Michael Pinada was just as tough and led New York past the Red Sox 3-1.Porcello made it back-to-back strong performances since coming off the DL, but a Travis Shaw error in the top of the 5th inning allowed Stephen Drew to step to the plate and deposit a 2-run double to the wall in left center field that gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead. Brett Gardner would add a solo homer in the 8th to cap the scoring.

Porcello took the loss after allowing 5 hits and a walk to go along with his 13 strikeouts over 8 innings. Since coming off the DL he has allowed just 1 earned run over 15 innings of work.

Michael Pineda kept Red Sox hitters off balance all night and gave up just 4 hits over 6 innings and had 7 strike outs of his own.

Henry Owens will get the start in today's series finale.
