Red Claws Now Belong To Celtics
It's official now. The Maine Red Claws are now owned by the Boston Celtics. A press conference at the Expo in Portland with C's front office people and former owner Bill Ryan, Jr. took place this morning.
The Red Claws of the G-League will begin their 11th season in Portland on November 9th.
Until now, the Celtics and a Maine group led Ryan operated as somewhat of a hybrid association but the move on is for NBA teams to own their G-League franchises. Only 2 of 28 are not owned by a NBA team.
