Boston Celtics fans everywhere are mourning the death of the great John 'Hondo' Havlicek at the age of 79.

'The Bouncing Buckeye' was another nickname given to Havlicek. He came to the C's in 1962 from Ohio State and helped the Celtics win eight NBA titles. He still is the franchise leader in points (26,395) and games played (1,270).

Havlick's #17 hangs in the rafters at Boston Garden.

NOTE: The Celtics will wear a special black stripe with the #17 on their uniforms in Sunday's game one vs the Milwakee Bucks...A special shooting shirt will be worn by players for game three back at Boston Garden next week.
