This will make Red Sox fans cringe - Pablo Sandoval pitching for the San Francisco Giants. It happened over the weekend.

The Giants were losing 15-6 to the Dodgers and clearly didn't want to use any more pitching, so Pablo made is MLB pitching debut. He got the Dodgers out 1-2-3 on three ground ball outs and threw 11 pitches in the top of the 9th inning.

He became the first Giants positional player to pitch since 1991.

As a hitter, Pablo is hitting .237 with a homer and seven RBI in 38 plate appearances for the 14-14 Giants.

Remember the Red Sox released Sandoval last July after signing him to a 5-year, $98 million dollar free agent deal in 2015. It turned out to be one of Boston's biggest busts.

The Sox are still paying him $18,455,000.00 this year, another $18,455,000.00 next year and another $5,000,000.00 in 2020.

The Giants are paying Sandoval $545,000.00 this year.
