Shrewsbury Ends Comrades Season [SCORES]

The Coffee News Bangor American Legion baseball team has been knocked out of the Northeast Regional Tournament. A 3-2 loss to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts ends tourney play with a 2-2 record.

It was a long, rainy Saturday for baseball in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The 10:30am game was delayed because of rain for several hours. Then the games were moved to another ballpark in Worcester and the games were cut to seven inning games.

The Comrades scored the first two runs, one on an Ethan Stoddard solo home run.

Zach Cowperthwaite was pitching a shutout going until the 5th inning. Shrewsbury's Jack Gardner knocked in two runs with a double and then Casey Boudreau got a basehit to knock in Gardner with what turned out to be the winning run.

Coffee News stranded the tying run at third base in the bottom of the 7th.

The Comrades finish the regional at 2-2 and their overall record finishes at 20-9.
