Drew Pomeranz pitched six innings of one run ball and Andrew Benintendi had three hits and three RBI as the Red Sox beat the Oakland A's 6-2 on getaway day.
The win puts Boston up 3.5 games over the Yankees in the AL East pending the Yankee-O's game tonight.
Pomeranz is now 16-5 with an ERA of 3.28.
Benintendi now has 83 RBI and upped his batting average to .380
The Sox open a series in Tampa Bay Friday night.
