Rick Porcello pitched six quality innings while the Red Sox offense pounded out a dozen hits as the Sox beat the Orioles 9-1 Friday night at Fenway.

The Sox pick up a game on Tampa Bay for that second wild card spot after the Rays lost their game. The Sox still trail by 6.5 games.

Offense was no problem against the shaky O's pitching staff. Six doubles, two triples and a Mookie Betts home run.

Meanwhile, Porcello worked six innings, giving up just one run, four hits and two walks. He gets his 11th win and goes past the 2,000 innings mark for his career.

Alex Cora talked Porcello and offense after the game.
