Just when you thought the Red Sox might be turning things around, they lay another egg in Oakland. The A's beat the Sox 7-3 Thursday afternoon and take three of the four games in the series.

For the first two innings, it appeared the Sox were in control. They scored three times, one on a JD Martinez home run.

But in the third inning, Eduardo Rodriguez gave up a double, a walk and then a three-run home to Stephen Piscotty. The game is tied 3-3...

It got worse for the Sox in the next inning. With two outs and two runners for the A's a fly ball to right center field drop in for a two-run double by Piscotty. Jackie Bradley Jr and Mookie Betts admitted the should have been caught.

And, it even got worse in the 9th inning. Betts got thrown out trying to go first to third on a bloop basehit. He was gunned down at third.

All in all, a frustrating day in a frustrating start to the season.
