Somehow Red Sox starter Brandon Workman deserved better. He pitched seven solid innings but ended up with yet another loss, 4-2 to the LA Angels. Workman has lost six in a row.

The sputtering Sox offense left 12 runners on base. They had runners on in every inning except one and still could manage just two runs.

Workman threw just 89 pitches in seven innings. He gave up two runs on six hits, walked two and struck out five.

It was Junichi Tazawa who struggled. In the 8th inning he loaded the bases on a hit and two walks. Then Tazawa failed to field a come-backer to him that would likely have been an innings ending doubleplay. Instead, he was charged with two errors on the play - on fielding the ball and then on the throw home.

All in all, another frustrating night at Fenway...
