News after Dustin Pedroia's check-up in Boston were not all positive.

The Red Sox second baseman will be heading to the 10-day disabled list with a severe sprain of his left wrist, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.  Pedroia injured his wrist trying to reach first base and collided with White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu.  The injury will likely cost Pedroia at least two weeks of game action.

Pablo Sandoval is expected to be the replacement on the roster with Pedroia injured.  The third baseman has a .213 average in 17 games before his injury and hit three home runs.  Sandoval is hitting .160 in seven rehab games with the Paw Sox in Triple A.

The Red Sox will play the second game of their series with the White Sox from the WIndy City tonight at 8:10 p.m.  Chris Sale is set to face his former team for the first time and will be opposed by Jose Quintana.
