Rain forced the final day of the North Atlantic Conference tournament inside the Mahaney Dome where the Husson Eagles won three games to claim their 6th straight championship.
The North Atlantic Conference tournament begins at Husson University today as six teams make their way to Bangor looking to earn a spot in the NCAA regionals.
Husson University baseball and softball teams finished regular season with Tuesday wins and now it's playoff time. The softball team will host a six team double elimination tournament starting Friday as the #1 seed. The baseball team is seeded #2 and will travel to Castleton State for a four team double elimination tournament that starts Friday.
The Husson University softball team will play its regular season finale today with a double-header against Thomas College. A sweep will clinch the regular season title.
The Husson Eagles scored two wins Friday afternoon vs UMaine Farmington. Two close, pitching dominated games. The Eagles won the first game 1-0 and scored a last inning run in game two to win 2-1. The doubleheader sweep improves Husson conference record to 11-4.
The Husson Eagles baseball team won their second game in as many days with a 9-4 win over St. Joes College. Today they return to conference play against UMaine-Farmington.
