Babineau, Sevey Get America East Awards
With the America East field hockey tournament about to get underway, some UMaine Black Bears took home postseason awards Wednesday night.Head Coach Josette Babineau and her assistants were awarded the Staff of the Year award. It's the first time the program has received this award since 2005.
Senior Nicole Sevey was named to the All-Conference first team. The Skowhegan native had 3 goals and 6 assists on the season.
Sydney Valjecic was named to the second team as the after the midfielder totaled 6 goals and 11 assists this year.
Maine will play their quarterfinal game against the Cal Bears tomorrow.
