Brewer’s Lufkin Sets PVC Discus Record
Brewer High School track and field standout Austin Lufkin continues to leave his mark in the Penobscot Valley Conference. The Wofford College bound senior set a PVC discus throw record in winning the championship on Saturday afternoon.
Lufkin tossed the discus 182-feet 6-inches, breaking the record set by Orono's Jake Koffman last spring.

Lufkin's teammate, Jacob McCluskey, finished runner-up in the discus.
The PVC large school division T&F championship take place today at MDI High School. The small school division championship is Monday at Foxcroft Academy.
The MDI High School boys and the Bangor High School girls won the team titles. The state championship meets are next Saturday.
