New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett may need to have surgery after suffering an injury to his right thumb during the second half of the team's game with the Houston Texans.

Julian Edelman was the back up quarterback for Week Three and may see time on the field against the Buffalo Bills if Brissett and Garoppolo are unable to play.  Free agent TJ Yates was also recently in Foxboro for a tryout with the Pats. Former Pats QB and current broadcaster Scott Zolak did jokingly announce that he is ready to play for New England if the call comes in to him.  No timetable has been listed at this time on the severity of the injury to Brissett's thumb.
