The Boston Bruins and talented defenseman Charlie McAvoy have reached a new three-year contract and that means the restricted free agent can now jump into training camp.

The club is saying how much the deal is worth but reports say the average hit to the salary cap is $4.9 million a year.

The 21-year-old McAvoy scored seven goals and 21 assists last season. His 22+ minutes average on-ice time led the B's last year.

NOTE: The last restricted free agent that needs to be signed is defenseman Brandon Carlo...The Bruins first preseason game is Monday night.
