In his first round of collegiate golf, Camden's Cole Anderson fired a 4-under par 66 for the Florida State University team at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate Tournament in Arizona.

Anderson's 66 was the best score among the FSU team. The Seminoles are in 14th place (+3) out of the 15 teams competing in this three-day  tourney.

The 18-year-old Anderson won the 100th Maine Amateur Championship back in July. He is a three-time Class A Individual State Champion in the Class A high school ranks.

Anderson graduated from Camden Hills HS last December and enrolled in classes at FSU last spring but did not play for the Seminoles golf team to keep his four years of eligibility.

Anderson's first round of college golf included four birdies and an eagle.

His 66 puts him in a tie for 10th place at the tourney in Scottsdale, Arizona.
