Bucksport Runs Away From Dexter To Claim Spot in C Semis
The Bucksport Golden Bucks boys gradually pulled away from the Dexter Tigers in the first game of the day at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor to earn a spot in the Class C North semifinals.
After a slow first quarter, the Golden Bucks built their lead starting in the second quarter, eventually expanding it to double digits and finishing with a 47-28 win.
The No. 3 Golden Bucks, who start five seniors, were led by Kyle Jackson with 16 points. Hayden Craig scored 9 points. Austin Mason added 7. Tyler Pye and Riley McLeod each had 6 points.
No. 6 Dexter, which doesn't have a senior on the team, had trouble putting the ball in the hoop, scoring only 16 points in each half.
For Dexter, Brayden Miller had 8 points and Zachary White added 6.
Bucksport had won the two regular season meeting with the Tigers, but those contests were much closer, with the Bucks winning by only 5 and 8 points.
