Former Bear Bishop Stops Montreal
Boston Bruins fans may want to say "thanks Ben". Big Ben Bishop and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Montreal Canadiens last night 7-1. The former UMaine Black Bear goalie is off to a good start to the NHL season.
Bishop has played in all three of the Tamp Bay games with a 2-0-1 record. His GAA is 1.61 and his save percentage is .931.
The 7-1 thumping of Montreal gives the Canadiens their first loss of the season after three wins. BIshop made 16 saves. Steven Stamkos had a hattrick for the Lightning.
Tampa Bay and Montreal are both in the same division with the Boston Bruins.
Bishop was the Black Bear goalie from 2005 to 2008.
