The USA Women's National Soccer Team scored a 1-0 win over Trinidad&Tobogo last night. It was the first game in the qualifying round to get to next year's World Cup Championship.

Abby Wambach scored the lone goal. USA dominated play with a 29-7 shot advantage.

Trinidad&Tobago goalkeeper Kimika Forbes made 11 saves. A year ago, Forbes was the goalkeeper at UMaine Fort Kent. She helped lead the Bengals to a USCAA national championship in division-3. Her record was 14-1-1 with 8 shutouts.

Hope Solo recorded her USA record 74th shutout.

Both USA and Trinidad&Tobago play next on Friday.

The Women's World Cup Tournament will be held in Canada next summer.
