Denny Hamlin survived 'the big one' at the Daytona 500 and won the biggest race in NASCAR for a second time. In fact, the Joe Gibbs Racing Team finished first, second, third.

'The big one' is the one big pile-up that seemingly happens every Daytona event. This time it happened with 10 laps to go and it took out 21 cars.

Kyle Busch finished second and Erik Jones finished third.

NOTE: Maine's Ricky Craven made his FOX TV debut during the Daytona coverage. The Newburgh native won races at every level of NASCAR and had worked racing coverage with ESPN for years...Craven was involved in a Hendricks Motorsports one-two-three finish at Daytona in 1997. Jeff Gordon won, Terry Labonte was second and Craven finished third.
