Bangor's Senior League World Series run came to an end Friday afternoon when Texas scored a 7-0 win in the semi-final round. Southpaw pitcher John Doxakis fired a complete game two-hit shutout, striking out nine Bangor hitters.

The World Series Championship game will feature Texas vs Curacao Saturday at 2pm.

Curacao scored a 3-2 walkoff win against Virginia, scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh to advance. Zaino Henriquez hit the game winning single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.

In the Bangor vs Texas semi-final, after the Southwest Regional champs scored an unearned run in the first inning, the game stayed 1-0 through five innings. Bangor starter James Prescott match Doxalis for most of the day.

In the sixth, Texas exploded for six runs on eight consecutive hits to break the game open.

Ryan Brookings collected the only two hits for Bangor.

Bangor finishes the SLWS with a 4-1 record.
