UMaine Drops Finale To UNH [VIDEO]

For the first time since January 7 the UMaine women's basketball team has lost a game, falling to UNH 61-47 in their regular season finale and ending their 14 game win streak.The Bears stingy defense held the Wildcats scoreless over the first 5:20 of the game, but as they got rolling the UMaine offense went cold. Maine shot just 35 percent for the game which included a 5 for 22 performance from the 3-point line.

Liz Wood who has been a double-double machine this season had 19 points but only managed 2 boards. Sigi Koizar added 13 points while no other Black Bear scored more than 6 in the game.

Despite the loss, Maine (22-7/14-2) still ends the regular season as America East co-champions and will be the number one seed in the tournament. The Bears will play the host Binghamton Bearcats in the first game on Saturday the 7th at 12 noon. Check out the playoff schedule below.
