The UMaine baseball team rocked New Mexico State pitching for 16 hits and took the finale of their 4-game series with a 13-3 win over the Aggies.Maine hitters jumped on New Mexico pitching early and scored 2 runs in the top of the first inning on an rbi single by Tyler Schwanz and a sacrifice fly by Brett Chappell.

Schwanz and Kevin Sypulkowski each had 3 hits and 2 rbi for the Bears while Chappell finished with 2 hits and 2 rbi. For the four game series Schwanz totaled 10 hits and 7 runs batted in.

Starting pitcher Chris Murphy allowed all 3 Aggie runs on 2 hits and 3 walks over 2.1 innings. Nick Silva took over and got the win after pitching 4.2 innings of scoreless 3 hit ball.

The Bears improve to 3-4 on the season and will begin their 13-game Florida trip Friday when they play a double header against St. Boneventure and North Dakota State.
