UM’s Abbott Gets AHL Playoff Hat Trick [VIDEO]

Former UMaine Black Bear Spencer Abbott might have had his best night yet as a pro...three goals for his AHL Toronto Marlies team 4-1 win over Texas. Abbott and company are trying to win the Western Conference title and move on to the Calder Cup championship. The best-of-7 series is tied at 2-2.

Abbott, who was a Hobey Baker Award finalist at UMaine his senior year, now has 8 points in 8 playoff games. He had 69 points in 64 regular season games for the Marlies.

Another former Black Bear, Will O'Neill, scored a powerplay goal for his St. John's AHL team. O'Neill's team is one win away from winning the AHL Eastern Conference title.
