He is one of the most iconic figures in the sport of baseball and on Monday night his family announced that former New York Yankee Yogi Berra had passes away at the age of 90 at his home in New Jersey.

The Hall of Fame catcher did things that not many others have or ever will accomplish during a pro baseball career that spanned 19 years. During his time he helped the Yankees win 10 World Series Championships, was named American League MVP three times, and was selected to 18 all-star teams.

He finished hi playing career with a batting average of .285 to go along with 358 home runs and 1,430 runs batted in. He was also known for his ability to hit in the postseason which is backed up by his 71 hits in World Series games.

Following his playing days he worked as a manager for both the Yankees and Mets.
