UMaine football coach Joe Harasymiak says it's doubtful quarterback Chris Ferguson will be ready for Saturday when Villanova comes to Alfond Stadium.

In the weekly CAA teleconference, Harasymiak said Ferguson needs to get the strength back in the shoulder and be healthy enough to survive a full game.

"He really is a day-to-day thing. He's doing better and he's doing everything he can and we're doing everything we can. In practice this week it will be a lot of Isaiah Robinson and Ryan (true freshman Ryan Walsh) in there."

Meanwhile, Villanova may have its own quarterback issues. Senior quarterback Zach Bednarczyk left during Saturday's loss to Stony Brook with a throwing shoulder injury.

Maine's loss to Yale last Saturday dropped the Black Bears nine spots in the STATS/FCS national poll, going from 16th down to 25th with a 2-2 record.

Villanova will come to Orono as the #19 team in FCS football.

Maine and 'Nova are two of seven CAA teams in the top-25 poll...
