Mookie Betts hit a game-winning home run and he threw out an Astros runner at home plate as the Red Sox beat Houston 2-1 Friday night.

Betts was the big star but the Sox pitching needs kudos too.

Drew Pomeranz pitched into the 7th inning giving up just one run. Joe Kelly, Matt Barnes and Craig Kimbrel pitched 2.2 innings of shutout ball.

The Sox are 38-29 and now just one game out of first place in the AL East after the Yankees lost again Friday night.
