The Winslow Black Raiders picked up their fourth win of the season with a 35-33 thrilling victory at Pottle Field over the Hawks on Friday night.

Both team alternated touchdowns throughout the contest and combined for 10 total scores in the game.  The Hermon side had a PAT blocked and failed to convert a 2-point conversion later on in the contest, which ultimately became the difference maker.

Running back Ryan Fredette of Winslow rushed for 235 yards on 27 carries and put home three touchdown runs in the game.  QB Ryan Gagnon was a perfect 6-6 throwing the ball for 101 yards and also rushed to two one-yard touchdowns.

The Hawks were led by Jordan Bishop who ran for 161 yards and two scores, while Garrett Trask was 4-8 with 97 passing yards, a passing TD, 123 yards rushing, along with a score via the run.

The scoring started off with a quick scoring drive by Winslow, capped by a Fredette four-yard run, which was quickly followed by a Bishop 40-yard touchdown.  The teams would continue to alternate touchdowns with both sides scoring again to make it 14-14 at the half.  Winslow and Hermon would then combine for four more touchdowns in the third quarter, before each would have another score a piece in the final 12 minutes to end the contest at 35-33.  Hermon scored with 1:31 remaining in the contest, but was unable to recover an onside kick and the Raiders iced the remaining time off the clock.

With the win Winslow moves to 4-1 on the season and will Gardiner their next match-up, while Hermon will travel to face Belfast next Friday night after falling to 3-2 on the year.
