Kevin Bourgoin is heading north of the border for his next coaching job - to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Bourgoin spent last season as an assistant coach with Colby College.

He had been UMaine football offensive coordinator from 2007 to 2016.

Bourgoin played high school football in Vermont and played in college ball at UMass.

In Winnipeg, Bourgoin will be running backs coach. The Blue Bombers went 11-7 last season and made it to the semi-finals of the CFL playoffs. Mike O'Shea is the head coach.

Winnipeg plays its first preseason game on June 10th. The CFL regular season begins in July and the 'Grey Cup' championship game is in November.
