Senior League World Series

Naamans Little League of Wilmington, Delaware are Senior League East Regional champs for a second straight year. A 9-8 extra inning over Pennsylvania in the title game at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.

Field crews were putting the final touches to Mansfield Stadium, making sure everything is ready for the 2019 Senior Little League East Regional that starts Thursday morning.

The country that produced players such as Andrelton Simmons (Angels), Jonathan Schoop (Brewers), Ozzie Albies (Braves) and Kenley Jansen (Dodgers) comes the 2018 Senior Little League World Champs. Curacao defeated Delaware 7-2 Saturday night in Easley, South Carolina.

The Red Sox manager Alex Cora spent some time at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor in August of 2015 and 2016 broadcasting the Senior League World Series for ESPN. Cora played for several major league teams from 1998 to 2011, including a stint with the Red Sox on the 2007 championship team...

Friday night Senior League Baseball teams from all over the world will gather for opening ceremonies. Saturday the games will begin. A few days later, a world championship banner will get handed to one of the teams.

The Brewer Senior League All Star tea, begin play today in New Jersey at the East Regional Tournament. Brewer lost to Throg's Neck, New York 4-0

Everyone admits the Senior League  District #3 Tournament feels a bit different this year. Instead of an automatic bid to be host team for the World Series, the district winner goes to New Jersey for the Eastern Regional Tourney.

Not that there was any doubt about the Senior League World Series move from Bangor to Easley, Sout Carolina, but Little League Baseball has now officially approved 2017 tournament dates.

The day after the stunning announcement that Little League Baseball was moving the Senior League World Series to South Carolina, the field work on Mansfield Stadium continued.

Little League president and CEO Steve Keener says the elimination of 'Big League Division' baseball and softball meant a decision had to be made on who gets to host 'Senior League Division' World Series - Bangor or Easley, South Carolina.
