The longest roadtrip to open a season in franchise history just got a little longer for the Boston Red Sox after taking a 15-8 pounding at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Simply put, this one was ugly.

Rick Porcello gave up seven runs, 10 hits in 4.2 innings. Talk about frustration - he picked up a water cooler and flung it against the dugout wall when he was taken out of the game.

Ketel Marte hit two home runs for the D-Backs, including a grand slam. Arizona blasted five home runs as part of their 18 hits. The scored four runs in the fourth inning and another seven in the sixth.

After Porcello, Brian Johnson and Tyler Thornburg pitched, Sox skipper Alex Cora turned to infielder Eduaro Nunez to pitch the last inning.

Perhaps the best news for the struggling Sox is the offense that seemed to wake up later in the game. Mookie had three hits including a home run. Mitch Moreland also had a homer as part of the 12 hit day.

The Sox play the D-Backs again tonight. It's the 10th game of this 11 game trip.
