
Eagles Win NAC Title Behind MVP Jones
With outstanding pitching from Jen Jones and timely hitting, the Husson Eagles beat New England College 4-1 to capture the North Atlantic Conference softball championship Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles lost their first game of the tournament and came back to win four straight games.
And, sophomore Jen Jones threw every single pitch of the tourney. 483 of them to be exact. 337 of them were strikes. She gave up two earned runs in 35 innings and was named tourney MVP.
In the title game vs NEC, Jones allowed the one run on six hits, did not walk a batter and struck out seven.
Bri Brouchu was the hitting star with three hits and two RBI.
The Eagles will take a 21-13 record into the NCAA Division III Tournament. The selection show to find out who and where they will play is Monday afternoon at 1pm.
